You choose the Standards you need to have available; we ensure you always have the most up-to-date versions of Standards available in your online portfolio, and users have 24/7 access via the Standards New Zealand website. An Online Library portfolio displays individual Standards and any predefined catalogues that you are subscribed to. An Online Library catalogue is a predefined list of Standards selected by Standards New Zealand and industry experts:
Full catalogue – list of all New Zealand and Joint Australian/New Zealand Standards
New Zealand catalogue – list of New Zealand Standards only
Building catalogue – list of current AS/NZS building Standards, and
our mini sector Standards catalogue – small catalogues of Standards for specific sectors, for example, electrical, plumbing, horticulture.
The cost depends on which Standards you require and how many concurrent users you want to have. When you tell us the Standards you want to access and how many concurrent users you need, we will prepare a quotation for you, then guide you through subscribing and setting up access.
Individual Standards can be priced by adding them to your shopping cart.

You can have as many concurrent users as required. If you sign up to the service on our website, you can enter between 1 and 20 concurrent users. If you need more than 20 concurrent users, please call 0800 782 632 during business hours or email onlinelibrary@standards.co.nz.
You will need to provide a list of Standards you want to access; we then prepare a quotation for you. When the quote is accepted and a subscription agreement signed, we will guide you through setting up your portfolio. Your Online Library Administrator can request to cancel your subscription or one of our Online Library Sales representatives can do this for you. Note that the subscription agreement contains details about terms and conditions for cancellations. If you would like us to process the cancellation, please email onlinelibrary@standards.co.nz. To help our efforts to continually improve our service, please include the reason for the cancellation.
This information can only be provided to the nominated Online Library contact person. If you are not your organisation's contact person, please call 0800 782 632 during business hours or email onlinelibrary@standards.co.nz and we will give you the name of your organisation's contact person.
If you are having problems logging in please check that you are entering the correct username and password, they are case sensitive.
- If you are the Administrator wanting to make changes or add a new Standard please enter the Administrator username and password only (note they are case sensitive). When you have logged in, click on ‘View and edit profile’ to make your changes or view your Online Library portfolio.
- If you are not the Administrator, you need to enter the Read-Only username and password to be able to read a Standard. Your Administrator can tell you what this is. Complete login by entering your full name. Your Online Library portfolio will then appear – click on the title of the Standard, this will take you to a page with the words 'View PDF'. Click this and a copy of the Standard will appear on your screen.

No. We can only provide New Zealand Standards, Joint Australian/New Zealand Standards, and certain adopted Standards in Online Library portfolios. Yes. If you are a current Member of Standards New Zealand you will be billed for the hard copy or PDF you have purchased, and an invoice will be sent to you asking for payment within 30 days. If you are not a Member you will need to pay first, by cheque, credit card, or direct credit, and the goods will then be couriered or emailed to you. The amount will not be added to your existing Online Library annual subscription invoice. Please note that you cannot make any purchases while logged in as a Read-Only user.
