Health and Disability Sector Standard (NZS 8134:2006)
Standards New Zealand was due to release the integrated NZS8134:2006 Health and Disability Sector Standard for public comment on 20 December 2005.
However, the Ministry of Health has requested that this release be delayed until they have had a chance to review some issues.
These issues include: ensuring that the revised Standard is aligned to the requirements of the Health and Disability (Safety) Act 2001, and ensuring that the complexities of the Standards and the auditing processes are compatible.
This review will be completed early next year. The new public comment date will be released in January 2006.
