What is Standards New Zealand Membership?

Standards New Zealand Membership enables your organisation to save money and time, especially if you purchase standards regularly. Membership rates are based on the number of full-time equivalent staff in your organisation.

Membership entitles you to a 20% discount on NZS and AS/NZS standards products and services, a 10% discount on international standards, credit facilities, and a subscription to Touchstone, our electronic magazine.

How does Standards New Zealand's Membership work?

Once you have signed up for membership, you can login to your account and purchase standards 24/7 at the discounted member price, and receive credit facilities. For any purchases made, you may request to be invoiced. All invoices must be paid by the 20th of the following month. Membership is renewed annually and the invoice will be sent out shortly after the renewal date.

What are the terms and conditions of Standards New Zealand Membership?

Each year, prior to your membership renewal, Standards New Zealand members are sent an email confirming the number of permanent, full-time equivalent staff employed by their organisation – either nationwide or at a site/division only.

Members are required to advise Standards New Zealand of any changes to numbers of permanent, full-time equivalent staff as this may affect your membership fees for the coming year.

What do I do to become a Standards New Zealand Member?

You can become a member on the Standards New Zealand by calling 0800 782 632 during business hours, or by emailing details to membership@standards.co.nz.

How much does Standards New Zealand's Membership cost?

The annual membership fee is determined by the number of full-time equivalent staff in your organisation. Membership pricing information is available on our website.

If your organisation has more than 501, full-time equivalent staff employed, contact our Customer Services team using the details at the top of the page.

Can I pay my Standards New Zealand membership online with my credit card?

You can pay by credit card when you complete your application online to become a member; however our current system does not allow you to pay your annual membership invoices this way.

Why can't I renew my Membership online?

Membership is renewed automatically – you will receive an email advising that your membership needs to be renewed, we will then send you a membership invoice for the coming year.

I want to cancel my Membership. How can I do this?

Membership subscriptions need to be cancelled in writing, either email membership@standards.co.nz or by faxing or mailing a letter.  To help our efforts to continually improve our service, please include the reason for the cancellation.

I'm not sure if our company is a member. How can I find out?

Contact our Customer Services team using the details at the top of the page.

I've forgotten our member username and password. Can you tell me what it is?

Your organisation's membership contact will be able to tell you. Or, if you click 'login’ and use the 'Forgot password?' An email will then be sent to you containing your username and password.

I am a student. Can I join Standards New Zealand as a Member?

You can, but an annual membership fee will apply. We do offer student discounts when you present your student ID. Also note that many public libraries have standards available to view at no cost.

We have a number of branches with separate Standards New Zealand memberships. Can these be consolidated into one membership?

Yes, we can create one membership account to cover as many branches as needed. Or, we can create a parent account and as many subaccounts as needed for different branches of the company. These accounts can all be covered by one invoice.

I am a student. Can I join Standards New Zealand as a Member?

You can, but an annual Membership fee will apply. We do offer student discounts when you present your student ID. Also note that many public libraries have Standards available to view at no cost.
