Amendment A:2011 to AS/NZS 4645.1:2008 Gas distribution networks – Network management

This New Zealand-only amendment in the form of a new Normative appendix provides additional requirements for the safe management of gas distribution networks. Appendix O has been developed to assist the New Zealand gas distribution sector to use AS/NZS 4645.1 for a gas distribution network operating at a Maximum Allowable Operating Pressure (MAOP) of up to 1965 kPa. The amendment includes a section on uprating of networks which was omitted from the original document. It also identifies that there are specific regulations and Standards that the New Zealand industry is required to comply with. The operating pressure limitation for networks constructed using PE 100 polyethylene material has been reviewed and is able to be increased in line with international experience.
