Re-tuning of digital TV frequencies underway

In the lead-up to the Digital Switchover, digital channel frequencies across New Zealand are changing to free up space on the radio spectrum for other uses. Kapiti was the first region to have its TV frequencies changed, and the majority of viewers successfully re-tuned their TVs quickly and easily without needing any assistance from Radio Spectrum Management.

Power increase proposed for short range devices in 9-190 kHz band

Issue 33 – November 2011

The Ministry of Economic Development is proposing to increase the power permitted by the General User Radio Licences for Short Range Devices in the 9-190 kHz band. This change will better harmonise arrangements with international limits for the band.The Ministry invites industry comment on the proposal. Submissions close at 5pm, 14 December 2011.
