House inspections highlight a continuing issue with the installation of extract fans and dryers and their associated ducting. Too often, the ducting does not vent to the outside (it discharges into a roof space), and ducts are often installed in a way that restricts their performance – examples are folds and creases in flexible ducting that constrict the flow.

DZ 3640 A5 Amendment No. 5 to NZS 3640:2003, Chemical preservation of round and sawn timber
The purpose of the limited technical amendment to NZS 3640 is to allow for the inclusion of new timber treatments. This amendment is limited to those applications submitted to Standards New Zealand by 11 November 2011. In addition this amendment will incorporate the Department of Building and Housing Amendment 7 to B2/AS1 for Table 6.1 for H1.1, H1.2.
